Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island is a not-for-profit organization that has been in existence for 29 years. As a chartered chapter of the national organization Prevent Child Abuse America, the agency mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of children in Rhode Island through awareness, education and advocacy.

Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island’s child abuse and neglect prevention strategy is designed to mobilize the entire Rhode Island community - human services, child care, medical, child protective services, law enforcement, legislative, parent/caretaker, media, and the business sector - to come together in partnership to develop and institutionalize a comprehensive approach for raising public awareness of this public health issue; to increase the capacity for prevention programming; and to advocate for a change in public policy for child abuse prevention.
Big Sisters of Rhode Island was established in 1966 as an all-volunteer mentoring organization dedicated to addressing the specific needs of girls at risk. Originally, Big Sisters offered one program, Traditional Mentoring, to match trained, adult female mentors with at-risk girls across the state. Today, we offer many programs to meet the diverse needs of our Little Sister population.
Bring in a donation for Big Sisters of RI and receive a free raffle ticket! Gently Used Coats, Gloves, Scarves or Hats will be accepted.
